Transportation Engineer Project Manager

About the role

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated transportation engineer looking for career advancement, in our Peoria Heights, IL office. This position will primarily consist of design leadership and development of a variety of transportation projects for State, County, Tollway, and Local Agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
• Manage/Complete IDOT or Local Agency Federal Aid Phase I and II projects for a variety of clients.
• Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
• Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
• Aid with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience completing IDOT or Local Agency Phase II bid documents.
• Microstation/Open Roads Designer capabilities preferred with an understanding of IDOT workflow.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s Illinois service areas (own transportation) and attend client and in office meetings as required.
• Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.

Skills

• Experience managing IDOT or Local Agency Phase I and II projects.
• Microstation/Open Roads Designer capabilities.
• Ability to travel and attend meetings.
• Independent task handling and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and technical skills.

Benefits

The pay range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
