Duties
- Assist the Project Manager in the design development of transportation projects on local roadways and state highways.
- Prepare design concepts and reports through the delivery of plans, specifications, estimates (PS&E), construction documents.
- Support in construction phase.
- Coordinate with team members, interact with clients, agency staff, and other consultants under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Understand and comply with project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Provide training for junior staff in technical skills.
Specific Experience
- Show past experiences in the preparation of preliminary design reports, design plans, specifications, quantities, and estimates using Caltrans and local agency standards.
- Familiarity with transportation design standards including but not limited to the Caltrans Highway Design Manual (HDM), Project Development Procedures Manual (PDPM), CT Standard Plans, CA Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD), the AASHTO Greenbook, and other similar guidance standards.
- Proficiency in preparing plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Current California registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Minimum of three years of qualifying transportation design engineering with past experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Caltrans standards, with progressively developing technical skills and knowledge in the delivery of plans, specifications, and estimates.
