About the role
The Transportation Engineering Technician I position involves assisting transportation engineers in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation facilities and systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports and documents
- Conduct field inspections and gather data on transportation projects
- Support the implementation of safety measures and traffic control procedures
- Participate in the evaluation of transportation projects for compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide technical support to transportation engineers during project phases
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a relevant associate's degree preferred
- Experience in transportation engineering or related field
- Knowledge of transportation engineering principles and practices
- Ability to operate various engineering equipment and software
