Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy sessions, social activities, and other destinations as scheduled
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on transportation vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
• Adhere to all traffic laws and facility policies regarding vehicle safety and resident transportation
• Provide assistance to residents entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey
• Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, mileage, and any incidents or observations during trips
• Cook up with facility staff, family members, and external providers to ensure effective and timely transportation arrangements
• Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently, including coordinating with emergency services if needed
• Exhibit professionalism and empathy while interacting with residents, family members, and facility staff

Qualifications

• Valid Nebraska driver's license with a clean driving record
• Previous experience in a driving or transportation role preferred, particularly within a healthcare or senior care environment
• Ability to lift and assist residents as needed and to handle physical tasks related to vehicle operation and maintenance
