Duties And Responsibilities
- Comply with the Community’s personnel, safety and corporate policies and procedures.
- Comply with the nursing department’s policies and procedures.
- Report witnessed allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director.
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize during transport.
- Assist residents in wheelchairs.
- Aid disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
- Create routes that accommodate appointments and activities.
- Communicate with Executive Director and Nursing Department upon disruption of service.
- Clean and service vehicle with fuel.
- Report all vehicle repairs and any unsafe or hazardous concerns immediately to the Executive Director.
- Assist with CNA or Maintenance duties as per Executive Director’s direction.
- Be flexible and available for special occasions, holidays, and weekends.
- Be ‘on-call’ during scheduled days, and have a replacement ready if unable to be on-call.
Essential Job Duties/Physical Requirements
- Regular worksite attendance.
- Must have a CNA license in good standing with the State.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must complete the Community’s Motor Vehicles policy requirements.
- Must be 21 years old to drive company vehicles.
- Must be over 25 and under 70 to operate a 15-passenger vehicle.
- Must have a valid CDL to operate a 16+ passenger vehicle.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by State regulations and Company policy, including medical and physical examinations.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed for your position.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people within the Community.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
