What do Bus Drivers do at Danbury?
The primary purpose of this position is to assist residents in their transportation needs by driving passenger buses to and from activities and destinations insuring the safety of all passengers.
- Drives daily and weekly route schedules as well as special requests.
- Affixes residents' belongings, opens and closes walkers and wheelchairs, carries oxygen tanks, and follows basic instructions and precautions in their use.
- Conducts periodic checks of bus operation including fuel, oil, wipers, fluids, lights, etc.
- Maintains cleanliness of bus insuring interior and exterior are clean, vacuumed, and free of garbage.
- Maintains logs and records pertaining to vehicle service.
What experience or skills do you need to be a Bus Driver at Danbury?
- Must be a driver in good standing and able to pass a background check with an insurance provider.
- At the minimum must have 1 year of experience driving a bus and prior experience working with seniors is preferred.
- Looking for a candidate that can work flexible hours. Day, evening and weekends will be required.
