Transportation Coordinator - Spring, TX

Job Summary

The Transportation Coordinator (TC) plays a crucial role in the overall day-to-day freight management of shipments and/or assigned shipping accounts, while delivering cost-effective solutions that keep the long-term interest of the customer as our priority.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Broker transportation shipments and securing carrier capacity
• Trace and trace customer shipments
• Provide customer support to meet their needs and address issues
• Conduct spot pricing, rate negotiations to meet margin requirements, and ensure maximum profitability, and handle related concerns
• Manage carrier base procurement, rate negotiations, and daily execution
• Maintain compliance with customer and carrier requirements
• Engage in customer and carrier communication to sustain growth
• Develop and manage a network of outside carriers to move freight in the most profitable manner
• Help with financial procedures and operating metrics (detention management, research/resolving invoice discrepancies, benchmark rate achievement, automation objectives, expedite decisions and cost, etc.)

Qualifications

• Transportation or supply chain related experience preferred
• Apply knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
• Use basic computer skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 10 Key, and Data Entry
• RMIS and TMS skills recommended
