Description of Work

This role focuses on supporting the district equipment program by guiding maintenance practices, reviewing fleet activities, and ensuring equipment is cared for properly. It involves technical oversight, coordination, and strong attention to detail across many equipment-related functions.

  • Maintenance Guidance: Provide direction and technical assistance to maintenance staff to ensure proper equipment care
  • Quality Inspections: Participate in preventative maintenance reviews and assist with identifying trends and needed corrections
  • Fleet Coordination: Manage pool vehicle maintenance scheduling and recommend repairs or replacements to maintain safe and efficient fleet operations
  • Training Support: Assist with developing and coordinating training for mechanics and equipment operators
  • Equipment Certification: Complete required courses to perform equipment certifications and serve as an instructor when needed
  • Inventory Oversight: Assist with equipment, tool, and radio inventories and support ongoing reporting needs

Qualifications Required

  • Three years of journey level experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel powered heavy construction and maintenance equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class A or B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) endorsement with the Air Brake (L) and (E) restrictions removed.
  • This position requires possession of a valid Class 4 or 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
  • This position requires one year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
