Transport Engineer Tech I/II- CPD
About the role
Performs basic design work and calculations. Performs field work; uses automated systems. Design activity is overseen by a licensed professional engineer or registered architect who has final approval authority for projects.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic design work.
- Performs intermediate drafting and calculations in support of design activities; accomplishes non-routine and complex assignments.
- Prepares field notes.
- Prepares quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility studies and right-of-way maps.
- Prepares roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signal, and building plans.
- Uses automated programs, interactive graphics and the Design and Construction Information System.
- Works on reproduction of plans.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Transportation Engineer Tech I: No experience required.
- Transportation Engineer Tech II: 2 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies.
- Experience: Transportation Engineer Tech I: No experience required. Transportation Engineer Tech II: 2 YEARS Drafting, design, plan preparation.
- Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
