Transport Driver II - ADESA Grimes

About the role
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, Lot Manager, or designated manager, the Transport Driver II operates motor vehicles on and off auction premises to support auction activities. This role involves transporting and directing drivers to move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area, as well as performing other assigned duties while adhering to company policies and state or federal laws.
Responsibilities
- Transport Auction Drivers on and off auction premises for pickup and delivery in support of auction activities.
- Assign Auction Drivers to lot areas on or off property to move, stage, and park vehicles.
- Instruct Auction Drivers on positioning of vehicles as directed by management.
- Drive vehicles to and from designated areas, observing auction driving rules, road safety, and defensive driving principles.
- Drive assigned vehicles through auction lanes on sale day.
- Verify VIN of vehicles against transportation requests during pickup or delivery.
- Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the Lot Manager or supervisor.
- Inflate tires, jump-start vehicles, and refuel vehicles as needed.
- Assist customers such as dealers, account reps, and coworkers when required.
- Perform a walk-around inspection of each vehicle before moving it and note any damage.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must obtain a current chauffeur license.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Clean background and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
Physical Demands
- Physical activity ranges from light to medium physical work.
- Frequent standing, walking, talking, listening, and touching.
- Potential for rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations (e.g., running, jumping).
- Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical, administrative, or machine operator positions.
- Position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes, weather, and minor atmospheric conditions (e.g., fumes, odors, dust).

Pay
Hourly Rate: $15.00
Schedule
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
