Transport Driver - Part Time - ADESA Flint

About the role

The Transport Driver operates motor vehicles on and off the premises for transport, pickup, and delivery in support of auction activities. Responsibilities include safely moving, staging, and parking vehicles in designated lot areas to ensure smooth auction operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas while observing auction driving rules, road safety, and defensive driving principles.
• Pick up and deliver vehicles, verifying VINs against transportation requests.
• Drive assigned vehicles through auction lanes on sale days.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the Lot Manager, Team Leader, or supervisor.
• Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank when necessary.
• Fill the gas tank for vehicles that are out of fuel.
• Assist customers, including dealers, account representatives, and coworkers, as needed.
• Perform a walk-around inspection of each vehicle before moving it and note any damage.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and pass a background check.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English (reasonable accommodations will be made for disabilities).

Physical Demands

• Physical activity ranges from light to medium physical work.
• Frequent standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, and talking.
• Potential for rapid or forceful movement in emergency situations (e.g., running, jumping, yelling).
• Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical, administrative, or machine operator roles.

Working Conditions

• Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes and weather.
• Exposure to slightly elevated ambient noise levels and minor atmospheric conditions (e.g., fumes, odors, dust).

Pay

Hourly rate: $13.73

Schedule

• 3 days per week: Monday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Wednesday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
