Transport Driver (Part Time) - ADESA Dayton

ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operates over 50 locations across the US. Our auto auctions, some spanning up to 200 acres, provide vehicle services including repair, reconditioning, auction remarketing, and market hub distribution. About the role

The Transport Driver operates motor vehicles on and off the premises for transport, pickup, and delivery to support auction activities. Responsibilities include safely moving, staging, and parking vehicles in designated areas, driving vehicles through auction lanes on sale days, and verifying VINs against transportation requests. Additional duties may involve inflating tires, jump-starting vehicles, filling gas tanks, assisting customers, and performing vehicle walk-arounds to note damage.

Responsibilities

• Safely move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area to support auction operations.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas, observing auction driving rules and defensive driving principles.
• Drive assigned vehicles through auction lanes on sale day.
• Verify VIN of vehicles being picked up or delivered against transportation requests.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the Lot Manager or supervisor.
• Inflate tires, jump-start vehicles, and fill gas tanks when necessary.
• Assist customers, dealers, account reps, and co-workers as needed.
• Perform walk-around inspections of vehicles prior to moving and note any damage.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Clean background check required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Physical ability to perform light to medium physical work, including frequent standing, walking, and listening, with potential for rapid movement in emergencies.
• Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical or machine operator positions.

Working Conditions

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes, weather, and slightly elevated ambient noise levels. Exposure to fumes, odors, and dust associated with vehicle operations may occur.

Pay

$15–$16.50 hourly.

Schedule

Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. Monday–Friday, with mixed schedules between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. This is a year-round opportunity.
