Transport Driver (Adult Day Center)

About the role

Full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Driver position providing daily non-medical transportation for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and supporting meaningful community outings at least three times per week.

Available schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week — Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Akron / Portage Lakes area).

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Support individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
• Provide daily non-medical transportation for individuals.
• Facilitate meaningful community outings at least three times per week.
• Help participants develop and achieve developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Take initiative to help participants engage in community activities and enjoy their favorite pastimes.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license held for at least one year (post-permit).
• Clean motor vehicle record that meets Sevita’s insurability policy.
• Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination (preferred).
