About the role
The Dispatcher will provide communication and support of the Brenner Oil Transport Fleet. Perfect attendance, a willingness to work all shifts, and a positive attitude focused on streamlining routes and cost reductions are critical in this role.
Responsibilities
- Show particular attention to detail while demonstrating superior communication and customer service skills.
- Align closely with the Safety Department to ensure full compliance of all laws and regulations surrounding the fleet.
- Learn dispatching duties for all divisions to be cross-trained to handle any situation in any location, cover vacations, absences, etc.
- Forecast fuel demands using highly sophisticated inventory replenishment/dispatch software.
- Understand the business metrics of transportation and logistics and how dispatching decisions can significantly affect profit and loss for the Company and our Customers.
- Determine availability of trucks, site storage restrictions, trailer compartment size options, supply point options, delivery time requirements, driver DOT availability, traffic, construction and weather conditions.
- Coordinate with pricing department to maximize profit and minimize delivery disruptions by adjusting dispatch as needed.
- Adjust planned dispatch to accommodate changes in operating environment such as terminal outages, ASAP deliveries, cancellations, truck breakdowns, etc.
- Ensure orchestrated and timely loads and communication to prevent all customer run-outs.
Requirements
- Previous dispatch experience with a wide range of knowledge fleet, daily operations, drivers, scheduling, and terminals a plus.
- Ability to forecast fuel demands using highly sophisticated inventory replenishment/dispatch software.
- Understand the business metrics of transportation and logistics and how dispatching decisions can significantly affect profit and loss for the Company and our Customers.
