About the Role
A Transplant Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing and coordinating clinical care for transplant candidates and recipients.
Responsibilities
- Conducts pre-transplant interviews and manages evaluations.
- Communicates with physicians and facilitates patient placement on transplant lists.
- Participates in transplant team goals and develops educational programs.
- Conducts patient visits pre- and post-transplant.
- Engages in research, interprets findings, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
- Represents the organization at various levels through speaking and publishing.
- Ensures age-specific patient care and models quality service.
- Maintains confidentiality and mentors staff.
Requirements
- Current Connecticut RN license.
- BSN required.
- 2-4 years recent acute care experience.
- Transplant experience and specialty certification preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of transplant care.
