Transmission Planning Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in power systems engineering and equivalent experience developed through detailed analysis of power systems.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in wide-area power system modeling, analysis, and planning, including power flow, transient stability, and short circuit studies for interconnections on the transmission system.
- Proficient with power system modeling and analysis tools including, at a minimum, Siemens PTI PSS®E Steady State Power Flow and Dynamics as well as PowerGem TARA.
- Experience with PSCAD software is a plus.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
- Highly experienced with rules, tariffs, guidelines, and processes of system operators (ISOs/RTOs) and studies of interconnections and transmission service.
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time to support client and sales initiatives.

- Technical expertise in performing system analyses, reviewing work for quality, and supporting proposal development.
- Mentoring junior engineers, overseeing project execution, and contributing to business development.
- Collaborating closely with clients, both existing and prospective, to build strong relationships and expand impact.
- Leading a group of talented engineers, guiding their growth while managing budgets and balancing team performance with strategic expansion.
