Transmission Builder Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Transmission Builder with at least five years of experience to work in our Phoenix stores. Ideal candidates are professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated rebuilders skilled in automatic transmissions who demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly and assembly of automatic transmissions
• Transmission tear down and diagnosis
• Parts pricing and ordering
• Transmission troubleshooting
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current, valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Prior experience working on transmissions
• At least five years of experience building common 4, 5, and 6-speed automatic transmissions

Working Conditions

• Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Work environment temperature varies and may include extreme heat and/or cold depending on ambient outdoor temperatures

Physical Demands

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to access various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly throughout the day
• Full range of motion with arms and hands; frequent handling or fingering of objects
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently
• Hear and speak clearly
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus

Pay

$30–$50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday.
