$21.8623 – $24.1118 per hour (Step 1 and Step 3 of a 7-step pay scale; hiring rate dependent on education, experience, and training).
Schedule
Full time. Schedule varies Monday through Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check and service automobiles, buses, trucks, groundskeeping equipment, and other equipment as assigned with fuel, lubricants, and other fluids.
- Wash and clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles, including steaming engines and other mechanical areas.
- Assist mechanics as needed during both in-facility and on-road services.
- Move vehicles and equipment as needed on MET property.
- Notify fleet and facilities management of needed resources, including fuel and lubricants, and order as assigned; monitor tank management system and report on any abnormalities.
- Carry out facility preventive maintenance programs for applicable equipment.
- Inspect and make minor repairs on boilers, compressors, hot water heaters, air conditioners, and other related equipment.
- Perform electrical work including changing ballasts and fixtures and repairing outlets and electric motors.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems including changing filters, setting valves, and changing motors.
- Maintain drive-through commercial bus wash building including pump, electrical system, and brushes.
- Maintain on-site grounds systems including fencing, gates, sprinkler systems, and other items.
- Perform annual fire extinguisher inventory and inspection for all fleet and facilities; maintain and inspect fire extinguishers regularly.
- Perform custodial duties, cleaning, and maintenance of facilities including dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork, washing windows and walls, cleaning rest rooms, assisting in moving and arranging furniture and equipment, sweeping, scrubbing/stripping/waxing floors, etc.
- Schedule carpet cleanings.
- Perform building maintenance duties in and around MET building including pouring concrete pads for bus shelters, painting, landscaping, grounds upkeep, and other duties.
- Perform and assist in snow removal procedures; direct snow removal procedures as assigned.
- Order and maintain facility inventory of routine parts and supplies as directed.
- Open for daily operations and secure building and facilities at end of day as assigned; disarm/secure alarm system and report on alarm functions.
- Assemble, maintain, clean, and repair advertising benches, bus shelters, and other transit amenities.
- Install and remove advertising graphics on fleet vehicles.
- Assist with orientation and training of new personnel.
- Complete required task tracking and reporting in electronic fleet and facility management systems; prepare maintenance reports as assigned.
- Assist with facility and fleet inventory services as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years' facility maintenance experience, or equivalent.
- Possession of a Low-Pressure Boiler License or one must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Completion of State of Montana Underground Storage Tank Certification process within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Federal and State criminal background check, and a driving record check.
