Transfer Evaluator

Under limited supervision, this position supports student enrollment and program completion by enforcing and implementing transfer credit articulation standards, researching and managing evaluation of transfer credits, compliantly managing award of military coursework, and determining transferability of credit from other domestic academic institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Daily - 30%: Utilize the student evaluation system, including degree audit and academic transcripts, to perform accurate equivalency research by analyzing institution legitimacy, course descriptions, and regional transfer credit policies. Research and analyze coursework to determine general education applicability, curriculum changes, and articulation toward Broward College programs. Use microfiche, online catalog archives, and other research tools to ensure accurate evaluation of student academic records. Apply analytical skills to recommend process improvements and award credit for varied course content.
  • Daily - 15%: Use multiple systems and tools, including degree audit, academic transcripts, and CollegeSource, to update internally aligned course equivalencies. Implement Florida College and University Postsecondary Articulation guidelines, the State of Florida Common Course Numbering System (SCCNS), national transfer articulation rules, and SACSCOC governing requirements to evaluate student post-secondary academic records.
  • Daily - 10%: Manage caseload of incoming transfer student transcripts, assess additional transfer credentials, and collaborate with Academic Advisors to mitigate barriers and ensure adherence to college policies. Ensure compliance with FERPA by coordinating student record information requests and verifying student qualifications and academic progress.
  • Daily - 10%: Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, and College policies. Manage and maintain academic student records, research and update post-secondary transfer credits via helpdesk (TDX) ticket requests, and apply functional knowledge of national and State general education compliance requirements.
  • Daily - 20%: Provide assistance to faculty, staff, and students by clarifying issues related to student access and evaluation of academic records. Resolve day-to-day issues by consulting with other institutions or Broward College academic disciplines regarding relevancy and equivalency of records.
  • Daily - 10%: Update student records by ordering transcripts through the Florida Automated System for Transferring Electronic Records (FASTER) to resolve issues with other Florida State institutions or local academic disciplines.
  • Daily - 5%: Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Four years of experience in evaluation of student academic transcripts and/or related experiences in admissions, advisement, and student records.
  • Experience in resolving complex issues with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and meeting service delivery standards.

  • Fully proficient in professional and functional standards and protocols of the position.
  • General understanding of the College’s structure, policies, and practices.
  • Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function.
  • Expertise in understanding and following project plans, including coordination of multiple resources and activities.
  • Ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and with external resources.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments, including Microsoft Office Products and specialized student information systems.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employee and student populations.

Pay

$42,320 - $49,726 annually, commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

  • Full-time, regular position.
  • Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • First shift.
