Transfer Center Specialist (EMT/Paramedic/LVN)
About the role
Texas Children’s is searching for a Transfer Center Specialist (EMT/Paramedic/LVN) who excels in fast-paced environments. This role involves facilitating patient transfers between Texas Children's Hospital and external healthcare facilities, ensuring patients are placed appropriately within the hospital based on their needs and acuity.
Responsibilities
- Maximizes available beds to patients based on acuity, diagnosis, and age
- Processes transfer requests according to federal/state regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Maintains data integrity and accurately assigns unique patient identification numbers
- Participates in departmental process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of Transfer Center, 911 dispatch experience, or relevant clinical experience
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure
- EMT or LVN experience for at least 1 year
- 3 years of Transfer Center and/or 911 dispatch experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure
- OREMT-B - Emergency Medical Tech-Basic Texas Department of State Health Services required

Pay
