About the role
RSM is seeking a Director to join our Deals Accounting and Strategic Finance practice with a focus in Transaction Accounting service line. This role involves managing multiple concurrent engagements, providing technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance, and collaborating with firm specialists on complex accounting matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the Deals Accounting and Strategic Finance practice to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clients.
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts.
- Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the consulting work plan and client deliverables.
- Collaborate directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting matters.
- Avoidance of repetitive tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experienced in serving clients with a local, national or international presence, and a number of diverse organizational structures.
- Experience in leading project teams related to one or more of the following areas: accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultation, new accounting standard implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 9+ years of experience.
- Strong leadership and client management experience.
Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive and relevant work experience in a same or similar role to the one for which you are applying, excluding internships.
Skills
- Ability to anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise.
- Understanding of RSM's service lines and work as a team in providing an integrated service delivery.
- Ability to develop others within the Transaction Accounting service line through mentoring, training and advising on career development or participating in other Firm initiatives.
- Understanding of RSM's lines of businesses, availability of services and where applicable, discuss with client management of opportunities to make valuable introductions to others in the firm.
- Ability to work with the National Leader on "go to market" strategy, participating in proposals, pitch meetings, and developing marketing collateral.
- Ability to work with external parties to effectuate business growth.
- Ability to subscribe to and actively read industry publications and share relevant information with clients as considered applicable.
- Ability to ensure professional development through ongoing education.
