Training Specialist

About the role

As a Training and Development Specialist at REM Community Services, you will facilitate training programs that support field operations, helping improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain course curriculum.
• Confer with management and staff to identify skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations, and changes in policies and procedures.
• Design, create, and update training aids, including manuals, handouts, course exercises, and visual aids.
• Deliver instruction using multiple modalities: one-on-one, classroom, teleconferencing, web-based training, and computer-based training.
• Confer with management, internal training consultants, and HR to identify additional training needs for new staff.
• Ensure ongoing feedback of training programs and modify programs as needed.
• Prepare and facilitate client-specific and clinical training, as well as new hire orientation, CPR, and medical administration.
• Provide input on the formulation and modification of procedures and practices related to agency training.
• Maintain current knowledge of organizational and industrial trends and recommend updates for training programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required by state.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to manage relationships.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and a team player.
