Training Specialist

McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Training Specialist position at the Burley, Idaho plant. The Training Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation and deployment of the training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our manufacturing personnel in collaboration with the lead trainers and the packaging leaders. This position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, technical writing/reference documentation, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, a passion for education, and the ability to create engaging and effective training modules, and commitment to continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and communicate technical and reference documentation.
- Practice documentation standards and use various tools to produce clear, concise, and user-friendly manuals and guides and other training media.
- Develop and use templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and style guides.
- Train, provide guidance, and support lead trainers in a manner assuring maximum development and utilization of their talents through the continuous improvement concept.
- Provide hands-on training sessions in collaboration with training leadership and the packaging optimization manager to ensure employees are effectively trained to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist lead trainers in teaching technical capability development to employees in new roles.
- Establish training aids (troubleshooting tools) and track progress to ensure consistency and commitment.
- Promote job safety and assist lead trainers in training necessary packaging employees in various safety-related trainings and eLearnings (e.g., LOTO, JSA, Crossing the Plane).
- Design and develop engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and hands-on practical exercises.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve training outlines, documentation, SOP-based training materials, data, tools, evaluation / assessment materials and processes.
- Support and deliver trainings on various initiatives: safety, new hire orientation, food safety and quality, etc.
- Assist lead trainers in facilitating training sessions for new manufacturing employees to familiarize them with company processes, safety protocols, and procedures.
- Support with continuous improvement programs including MDI.
Qualifications
- May be required to work and train during plant shutdowns.
- Requires a high degree of mechanical skill and a considerable degree of initiative and independence.
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Packaging Technology, Education) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, with a strong understanding of technical writing and machinery.
- Previous experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Pay
$65,500.00 - $87,400.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
