Training Specialist
Position Summary
This role delivers technical training across a wide range of solution areas and technologies, while also serving in the capacity of Technical Instructional Design Lead. The position is remote; however, candidates must be located in Southern California and willing to meet at a Tech Bar for equipment pick-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers technical training on a wide range of solution areas/technologies.
- Develops, designs, and ensures quality of training materials; performs in the capacity of Technical Instructional Design Lead.
- Utilizes knowledge of training methodologies to plan and facilitate the development of training solutions that drive department or Operating Unit outcomes.
- Maintains and documents user outcomes, needs assessment, and learning objectives.
- Supports the implementation of training programs, delivery plans, and documentation of user outcomes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand and examine existing software and system training materials, identify gaps, and develop an organized approach to the development of training resources.
- Balances the needs of different functions in the identification and design of the technical training curriculum.
- Ensures feedback is incorporated into the design, development, or facilitation of future technical training programs, and that training interventions align both learner experience and department/Operating Unit needs.
- Conducts analyses on program effectiveness, reporting to department or Operating Unit leaders on results.
- Provides input on documentation of programs, curriculum, and outcome objectives.
Required Skills
- Instructional Design Certification
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud tools (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator), Articulate Storyline, Microsoft Suite (PPT, Word, Excel)
- Portfolio submission
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project management
- Experience working in a utility company
Education Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of Education, Instructional Design, or Graphic Design, or five or more years of experience in supporting technical training learning initiatives.
