About the role

It's a great feeling to work for a company that does so much good for others around the world! This role involves supervisory and case management responsibilities within post release and home study programs, with a focus on training, compliance, and support for foster care initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to the position.
  • Provide release and home study staff with relevant training that meets agency, licensing, and contract requirements, as well as individual staff needs.
  • Consistently provide and update training for state and federally funded programs, community services, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute a staff training calendar offering numerous development opportunities, including evening and overnight shifts.
  • Maintain a staff training database, generating monthly and quarterly reports on training and its impact on program practices and outcomes.
  • Maintain post release and home study program personnel files, training records, and certifications.
  • Develop professional relationships with peers in the field, including private agencies and supporting organizations.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by your supervisor.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols in case of an emergency.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions, and operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Uphold Compass Connections’ professional and ethical standards of conduct, including respect for agency staff, service population, and community members, and comply with the required dress code.
  • Establish and implement a training strategy and goals for the post release and home study programs.
  • Develop and continually update program training manuals and materials.
  • Frequently travel between locations, including distances greater than 50 miles from the home office.
  • Meet all deadlines required by your program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Support, encourage, and recruit foster parents for foster care programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services (required). Master’s degree in these fields (preferred).
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Emergency Behavior Intervention.
  • With a master’s degree: at least three (3) years of progressive employment experience demonstrating supervisory and case management experience.
  • With a bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years of progressive employment experience demonstrating supervisory and case management experience.
  • Experience in child welfare and working with immigrant populations (preferred).
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to:
    • Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
    • Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, and professionals.
    • Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining emotional control and professional composure.
    • Maintain computer literacy required for the position.
    • Work effectively and without intensive supervision, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.

Schedule

Full-time position. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by your supervisor.

Additional Information

  • Compass Connections requires all employees to receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption as a medical or religious accommodation. Proof of vaccination or exemption is a condition of employment.
  • Fluent English language skills are required.
