The Role

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
  • One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
    • NNS Apprentice School graduate
    • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
    • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
    • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
    • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
    • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of ADDIE and adult learning theory
  • Experience developing blended learning: instructor-led, virtual, and eLearning (Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia)
  • Ability to create job aids and performance support tools aligned with standards
  • Basic media development capability (Adobe Photoshop-simple graphics, Adobe Audition-audio/video cleanup)
  • Ability to create clear, accurate training based on technical documents, procedures, drawings, and shipyard processes
  • Experience updating or maintaining training materials for compliance, audits, and quality reviews
  • Ability to collaborate with department training managers and coordinators on courseware development

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with SME mechanics, leaders, and office personnel
  • Ability to conduct learning needs assessments and support training gap analysis
  • Knowledge of SCORM/xAPI creation and troubleshooting

Pay

$63,000.00 to $80,000.00
