About the role
Manages the training and employee development functions within the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Implements training and development policies and programs, which may include technical training, management or organizational development, safety training, train-the-trainer programs, or learning management.
- Leads and supports a team responsible for implementing training initiatives, assisting with processes and implementations to ensure effective execution.
- Crafts tailored training solutions that cater to the unique requirements of employees across all levels.
- Monitors employees to assess the effectiveness of training programs and ensures continual refreshers are provided to meet any additional training needs.
- Ensures accurate maintenance of all safety certification records.
- Maintains accurate documentation for all training programs and modules.
- Writes SOPs and deliverables for workplace efficiency and safety and ensures that each member is aware of associated rules and effectively trained against SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
- Coordinates with other functional groups to assess, review, and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliverables to enhance workplace efficiency and safety. Ensures team members are fully informed of relevant rules and proficiently trained on SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
- Oversees employee training facilitation, maintenance of training records, and ensures the scheduling and execution of weekly one-on-one meetings with new selectors.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors.
- Performs all other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.
Requirements
- 5+ years of management training experience, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of maintaining accurate documentation and records.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions that drive knowledge retention and application.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in managing a demanding workload, prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and a focus on results and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and warehouse management systems.
- General knowledge of OSHA Standards.
- Experience working with UKG and Kronos.
- Experience in supervising temporary staff.
- Ability to think strategically and conceptually.
