This position is located at the Auto Skills facility on Fort Moore Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR).
United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation are eligible to apply.
About the role
Responsible for the administration, safe operation, custody, and maintenance of the self-help program within the auto crafts center.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical assistance and training to patrons in self-help automotive repairs, ranging from simple to complex tasks including engine and transmission overhauls, and bodywork.
- Informs patrons of shop policies and instructs on the safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools.
- Provides individual and class instruction to military personnel and other eligible patrons.
- Develops lesson plans and prepares training aids and instructional materials.
- Plans publicity for programs and recommends acquisition of new equipment.
- Compiles data and writes reports as necessary.
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to employees, including training new staff.
- Directs work and provides task instructions.
- Collects fees and safeguards funds and equipment.
- Orders equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
- Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (www.sss.gov).
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
