Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive training curriculums;
- Counsels and facilitates instructor-led training sessions;
- Develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities;
- Tracks training outcomes through assessments and feedback mechanisms, analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and revises training materials accordingly;
- Reviews training requests and develops/manages training schedules;
- Develops course content and coordinates the creation of training aids;
- In coordination with internal customers, key stakeholders, training content owners, contractors, or vendors, develops and administers student examinations and knowledge checks;
- Maintains applicable training/qualification/certification records on trained personnel;
- Coordinates training programs with customer and/or contractor personnel;
- Standardizes user training, technical manuals and other aspects of integrated logistics support;
- Utilizes Learning Management System (LMS) and other training technology tools to create, manage, schedule, and deliver training programs;
- Coordinates information sharing, project/task handover, issue resolution, and provides coverage (as required) between working shifts.
Qualifications
- Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in a related field;
- Must have a basic technical understanding of division/subsidiary/affiliate product(s) and be able to understand and integrate technical writing source material into training curriculum;
- Must possess the ability to schedule and coordinate multiple work phases, determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level, and have experience demonstrating a basic application of training practices, techniques, and standards;
- Must be customer focused and possess:
- The ability to develop solutions to a variety of non-routine problems;
- Good verbal and written communication and presentations skills to accurately train and report findings to a variety of audiences;
- Good interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees;
- The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;
- Good computer skills;
- Able to work with common hand tools and equipment;
- Experience and knowledge building various assemblies is a plus; may include Cables assemblies, Line-Replacement Units (LRU), Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWA), Electronic/Mechanical Assemblies, etc.;
- Must be able to obtain and meet requirements to maintain applicable industry standard Certified Instructor Training (CIT) certifications (i.e. IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001 Soldering, etc.);
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to reviewing and creation of training curriculums;
- Able to work independently or as part of a team is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
