About the role
In this Training & Curriculum Specialist role with Moody AFB’s Child & Youth Programs, you will become the trusted partner for staff, elevating classroom practice, strengthening program quality, and creating spaces where military children feel safe, curious, and eager to explore.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the early childhood education specialist or youth development specialist for various programs including child development centers, family childcare, school-age, youth programs, and unique childcare programs.
- Train program staff, volunteers, contractors, family childcare providers, administrative, and food service staff.
- Offer flexibility with a direct, streamlined application and hiring process due to a severe shortage of candidates or critical hiring needs.
Requirements
- A degree in early childhood or child development is required to meet the education requirements for this position.
- Professional knowledge of early childhood and youth development, including principles, theories, and practices from infancy through school-age, youth, and teen years.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations and policies.
- Ability to develop curricula supporting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children and youth.
- Skills in developing supports for children with special needs and those with challenging behaviors.
- Ability to provide training to staff members, volunteers, family childcare providers, and parents, as well as food service and administrative staff.
- Experience in administering and interpreting environmental, program, and child abuse probability assessments.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be of legal working age.
