Training and Curriculum Specialist 1
About the role
The Human Services team at Public Consulting Group (PCG) focuses on improving lives by helping state and municipal human services and economic development agencies fulfill their commitments to constituents. This team works closely with trainers to develop and deliver training programs, ensuring that participants receive the necessary skills to make meaningful changes in government organizations.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the design and delivery of training programs, including presentation materials
- Conducts training needs assessments and provides recommendations
- Teaches others through classroom facilitation and feedback
- Aids in the development of monthly training programs, schedules, and training calendars
- Designs, develops, and implements training curriculum, seminars, and educational resources for participants
- Coordinates with local agencies to provide additional training courses for Welfare-To-Work participants
- Maintains awareness of County resources and events, including community seminars and workshops
- Develops, implements, and maintains training curriculum, seminars, and educational resources for staff
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Program Guide and Regulations
- Works in partnership with existing trainers in training development and delivery
- Maintains staff/participant progress and supports coaching and development
- Ensures that PCG objectives and monthly goals are met and supports contractual goals
Requirements
- Knowledge of commonly used training concepts, practices, and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Effective presentation skills, including ability to communicate with groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Time management skills, especially in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of MS Windows, Excel, and Word preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experience in a classroom setting; taught workshops, seminars, etc.
- 1-2 years' experience teaching adults
- Knowledge of the needs and characteristics of adult learners
- Competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, PPT, and Internet
- Ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all materials in the work setting
- Ability to work across all levels of management and staff
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with federal, state, and county agencies as well as the general public
- Ability to partner with and motivate participants, including those with both physical and/or mental disabilities
- Professional level of empathy for participants and respect for cultural differences
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience in coaching and development preferred; at least 2 years of experience in training/workforce development
- Required in Office Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role: $70,304 - $75,900. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
