Training and Fleet Coordinator
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, safety-focused, and professional individual to join our Transportation team as a Training and Fleet Coordinator. This position oversees employee training programs, fleet coordination activities, and operational compliance to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of public transit services. Responsibilities include administering operator and dispatcher training, coordinating vehicle-related compliance activities, and promoting a culture of safety and customer service throughout the organization.
The primary location for this full-time position will be at one of our garages in Waite Park, Little Falls, Milaca, Sauk Centre, or Elk River, based on candidate preference.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct new Transportation employee orientation and onboarding.
- Develop and deliver training for bus operators.
- Conduct behind-the-wheel instruction, ride evaluations, and performance coaching; evaluate on-road performance and identify training opportunities.
- Schedule and maintain required refresher training, certifications, and recertifications.
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
- Update and maintain training materials, standard operating procedures, and instructional resources.
- Support Drug and Alcohol training programs, requirements, and record retention.
- Coordinate vehicle assignments and monitor fleet availability; communicate vehicle needs with vendors.
- Track preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, licenses, and registration requirements.
- Ensure fleet records are accurate, organized, and submitted to MN DOT, and audit-ready.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in public transit, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, training, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with CDL, Passenger endorsement, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to maintain all licenses and certifications required to operate agency vehicles.
- Proficiency with Dispatch software, Microsoft Office, fleet, and operational software systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations.
Pay
Starting wage range for this full-time position is $26.97 - $33.72 per hour.
