Trainer/ Instructor (onsite - Oriskany, NY)

GP Strategies Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic Trainer/Instructor to deliver high-impact onboarding training for new hires joining our client’s disability insurance service department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the classroom and enjoys helping learners build confidence and competence from day one.

About the Role

This is a hands-on training delivery role where all training content is already developed. You’ll bring it to life! While the role is based primarily onsite in Oriskany, New York (more than 75% of the time), you’ll have flexibility to work remotely when not delivering training and may travel occasionally to support sessions at additional locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging learning experiences through classroom-based (mostly) and virtual training (ILT & VILT) for new hires.
• Facilitate sessions using a variety of methods that support adult learning styles.
• Guide learners through structured materials including learner guides, facilitator guides, and hands-on exercises.
• Deliver training programs consistently and effectively, earning strong evaluation scores and learner satisfaction.
• Adapt your approach to meet the needs of diverse audiences and skill levels.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development Managers and operational teams to meet training goals.
• Ensure learners are well-prepared to step into their roles with confidence and clarity.
• Troubleshoot learner issues in both virtual and classroom environments.
• Provide coaching, clarify complex topics, and maintain an engaging, supportive environment.

Requirements

• Experience delivering training in both classroom and virtual formats.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot learner questions and technical issues during sessions.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and effective instructional methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering virtual training (e.g., Zoom, Teams, WebEx).
• Knowledge of learning theories, LMS/LCMS systems, and training evaluation methods.
• Background in insurance fields (dental, disability, long-term care, health) or the financial industry (helpful but not required).
