This is a full-time, non-exempt, 1st shift position. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional hours, overtime, weekends, or schedule adjustments may be required based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead onboarding and training for new team members, including coordination and development of temporary-to-hire team members.
- Create and implement visual work instructions and hands-on training tools that support different learning styles and drive consistency on the production floor.
- Establish and maintain training matrices and certification tracking to ensure all team members are properly trained, qualified, and current in their roles.
- Partner with Shift Supervisors to determine the most effective methods for achieving productivity, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
- Motivate and coach team members to improve performance while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate regularly with leadership to identify training needs and develop structured training and development plans.
- Ensure training programs and documentation are audit-ready and compliant with company, customer, and regulatory requirements (including HACCP and safety standards).
- Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs across all levels of the manufacturing team.
- Provide hands-on guidance, instruction, and support to team members on the production floor.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching to improve skills, consistency, and overall effectiveness.
- Provide targeted coaching and retraining for team members needing skill improvement or performance support.
- Work with Shift Supervisors to maximize manpower during vacations, breaks, and absenteeism.
- Monitor the production floor to ensure compliance with all safety standards, including HACCP requirements.
- Monitor labor and material usage to ensure resources are aligned with production goals.
- Enforce accountability for proper time usage, including adherence to break schedules and minimizing downtime.
- Aid in identifying root causes of production issues and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure all team members are treated with respect and dignity, reinforcing a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the site SQF program as stated in the FS&Q Policy, HSE, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required; training or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of production processes, safety standards, and quality systems (HACCP knowledge preferred).
- Experience developing training materials, standard work, and documentation preferred.
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees at varying skill levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on, floor-focused leadership style with strong problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
