Trainer
About the Role
The New Jersey Tax Trainer delivers Taxation education for all collection and property tax relief programs, and any other calls Taxation may assign. The Trainer conducts new hire, refresher, and continued training for all full-time, part-time, and temporary personnel. They assess trainees’ knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure understanding and conformance to all Taxation and company policies and procedures, perform supervisory duties for new hire personnel, and provide clear, concise, and timely updates on trainees’ performance to on-site liaisons and management.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate training to ensure consistent and complete understanding of programs while adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of adult learners.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct training for new personnel, including securing training space, classroom set-up, resources, and data collection.
- Monitor trainee progress during training and coach for improvement.
- Identify performance gaps, determine causes, and provide solutions to the Training Delivery team.
- Provide coaching about job performance and quality assurance to employees after training.
- Research and answer trainee inquiries to improve knowledge and job performance.
- Assist in evaluating training effectiveness based on feedback from customers and end users.
- Ensure all training documentation and data are completed and materials are delivered according to client guidelines.
- Complete trainee observations to identify trends and recommend changes in scripting and training.
- Perform peer audits to share best practices and improve facilitation and knowledge skills.
- Attend weekly conference calls, workgroups, and meetings.
- Travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and 3-5 years of customer service and training experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience delivering classroom training or other formal presentations as a major job responsibility.
- Training experience within the last 5 years.
- PC proficiency, especially in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Security Information
Employees are required to safeguard computer systems by following proper username and password management, securing desks and workstations, and reporting security violations. Physical security includes not allowing unauthorized access to facilities and reporting any suspicious activity immediately.
Working Conditions
The physical demands include regular talking or hearing, moderate noise levels, and the ability to see clearly (close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment). The employee frequently uses hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls and occasionally stands, walks, sits, reaches, lifts, or moves up to 10 pounds. Pay
Annual salary of $65,000.

- Retirement: 401(k) plan offered through TransAmerica. Employees become eligible the first day of the quarter following 60 days of employment. Coast matches up to 3% of contributions after one year of employment.
