Trailer Maintenance Technician

1st shift Mon-Friday
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet trailers
- Inspect and service brakes, axles, suspensions, lights, and structural components
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair or replace tires, wheel hubs, landing gear, doors, and other trailer components
- Perform light maintenance and repairs on trucks as needed
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain accurate electronic repair and maintenance records
- Communicate repair status and maintenance needs with fleet managers, drivers, and team members
- Support preventative maintenance programs to maximize fleet reliability
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of trailer mechanic or related maintenance experience
- Current DOT Certified Inspector
- Knowledge of trailer braking systems, suspensions, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation
- Valid driver's license
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must provide own tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding and fabrication experience
- CDL license
- Experience working in a fleet maintenance environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and working around heavy equipment
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced maintenance environment
