Traffic Operations Technician II
Duties and Responsibilities
The Traffic Operations Technician II duties and responsibilities will be focused on performing a variety of technical activities in support of traffic signal timing, traffic operations and data collection.
- Follow standard practice and procedures
- Aid in collecting, analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming projects, covering the data collection phase through the project reporting phase
- Develop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare the development of system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports and mitigation plans, coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems
- Closely coordinate with our department groups as needed
- Apply advanced tactics to efficiently move traffic
- Interact professionally and proactively with clients to ensure clients are highly satisfied
- Maintain knowledge of ATMS platforms, optimization software, and analysis software to ensure technical competence
- Travel, as required, to participate in retiming deployments. Length of travel will depend on specific assignments and the successful completion of inherent responsibilities
Requirements
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a related technical field with at least 2 years working in the field (transportation related experience preferred)
- Intermediate TTC (MOT) certification required
- IMSA Traffic Signals Level I required and ability to obtain Level II certification within 3 months
- Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations knowledge is a plus
- Practical knowledge of ATMS platforms and traffic signal controllers knowledge is a plus
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft's Excel, Word programs and Synchro
- Desire and ability to work in the field at intersections

Pay
Iteris, Inc. anticipates paying an hourly rate between $23.00 and $25.75 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
