Traffic Enforcement Officer - Public Safety

About the role

The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority is accepting applications for a non-sworn position that involves traffic enforcement work to assist in regulating the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and to promote smooth traffic flow. The Traffic Enforcement Officer (TEO) serves as an ambassador for the department by regularly engaging with customers and the public, providing directions and guidance, assisting motorists, and maintaining a visible uniformed presence.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicular traffic and ensure safety of pedestrians and property
• Conduct aviation worker inspections, vehicle inspections, and visible patrols
• Perform parking enforcement and issue parking violations in accordance with appropriate statutes and ordinances
• Promote overall safety and security for the Authority

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Previous law enforcement related experience is preferred
