Traffic Coordinator

About the Role

Under the direction of the Plant Supply Chain Manager, this individual packs and prepares customer orders for shipping, receives material and equipment, and loads and unloads trucks according to established procedures and shipping regulations, meeting customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders from finished goods or staging area.
• Prepare products for shipping to customers.
• Ensure customer order and products match, box, crate, shrink-wrap as necessary.
• Contact carriers and schedule pick-ups, ensuring the meeting of customer delivery requirements.
• Load trucks with outgoing products and/or unload trucks with incoming materials.
• Inspect materials to ensure bill of lading is correct.
• Verify the quantity and quality of material received.
• Place incoming materials into storage.
• Strive to keep transport costs within budget goals.
• Operate bander.
• Affix completed address label and any other special labels required for the handling of material and specified by the carrier and/or customer.
• Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Process recycled products.
• Follow all safety, regulatory, company policy, procedures, and rules including hazardous waste.
• Adhere to the GMP policy.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the company.

Education and Experience

Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma, and three to twelve months of related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
