Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove advance warning signs, channelizing devices, and other traffic control devices according to Federal, State, and/or Local Temporary Traffic Control Guidelines and Plans for simple and intermediate complexity work zones.
• Maintain a Flagger Station by standing and controlling road users using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle.
• Drive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and in a timely manner; may pull lightweight trailered equipment.
• Communicate effectively via radio with team members on work sites.
• Follow all company safety procedures and practices; notify Supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents.
• Complete organizational required training within established timeframes.
• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Protector team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2,000+ verifiable hours in traffic control.
• High School Diploma or GED completion.
• Prior experience in temporary traffic control, utility, or construction industries preferred.
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.
• Valid Driver’s License without suspension or revocation.
• Ability to follow safe workplace practices.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Hours may vary based on staffing needs.
• Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, high noise levels, and extreme outdoor conditions (heat, cold, humidity, dust, asphalt).
• Lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds.
• Stands for long periods and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Requires good manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and the ability to push, pull, or carry objects.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $18.00–$25.00, based on experience, with a guaranteed increase within the first year.
