About the role
STOP is a professional traffic control company dedicated to keeping traffic safe during road work. As a Traffic Control Coordinator, you will lead a team to maintain safety and minimize congestion in your designated area. You will use your experience and training to implement traffic control measures, coordinate with crew members, and ensure a professional environment for co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Report to work at the designated start time; all projects are time-sensitive.
- Evaluate traffic patterns to determine the best control needs.
- Work and communicate with crew members to clarify traffic control setups, individual roles, and ensure safe, proper, and efficient job completion.
- Implement traffic control using signs, cones, and other devices.
- Maintain a safe environment for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Coordinate traffic flow in construction areas.
- Communicate with clients and complete all on-site paperwork.
- Assist with ongoing work at the jobsite when necessary.
Daily Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies and ensure team members comply.
- Check that all TMA’s are loaded with the proper traffic control devices before leaving for the jobsite.
- Ensure all TMA’s and Arrow boards are working properly at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Report any vehicle maintenance or repairs and complete all required forms.
- Fill out detailed daily timesheets, vehicle logs, and radio log books.
- Ensure team members return all equipment and vehicle pouches at the end of each shift and complete all paperwork.
- Verify team members have all required personal protection gear before leaving for the job site.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned, including shop work such as general maintenance and inventory.
