About the Role
A leading healthcare technology organization is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to support its legal and intellectual property team. This role focuses on trademark prosecution, trademark searches, docket management, legal documentation, and dispute support.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file trademark prosecution documents, including trademark applications, declarations of use, and related submissions to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
- Conduct comprehensive trademark searches using trademark databases and online research tools.
- Retrieve, review, and maintain trademark dockets while monitoring critical deadlines and activities.
- Support attorneys with trademark enforcement matters, investigations, legal research, and case preparation.
- Draft professional correspondence, including cease and desist letters and communications with outside counsel.
- Coordinate documentation and information requests related to trademark disputes and legal matters.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding trademark records, filings, and legal documentation.
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal professionals, business stakeholders, and external law firms on trademark-related projects.
- Maintain accurate trademark records and ensure compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Minimum five years of trademark prosecution experience.
- Experience preparing and submitting trademark documentation to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
- Strong knowledge of trademark search methodologies and familiarity with USPTO databases.
- Experience reviewing and managing trademark dockets and deadlines.
- Ability to draft concise and effective legal correspondence and trademark-related communications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, database management systems, and legal software applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting trademark disputes and enforcement matters.
- Experience working with outside counsel and cross-functional business teams.
- Familiarity with trademark specimens, declarations of use, and global trademark portfolios.
- Experience in a corporate legal department or intellectual property practice.
