About the role
The Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is a statewide, nonprofit public interest law firm in Georgia that offers free civil legal services to low-income individuals. GLSP operates 10 regional offices across the state, providing services in 154 of the 159 counties.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and litigation support for legal workers in the Macon office.
- Prepare and draft letters, briefs, and case filings for legal workers.
- Operate all office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machines, telephones, and computer equipment).
- Aid the office manager with various tasks and projects.
- Cover the front desk and assist walk-in clients.
- Distribute incoming mail.
- Stay updated on office priorities, procedures, and GLSP/LSC regulations and priorities.
- Have an exceptional knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license for business-related travel.
- Show excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Show a strong desire and capacity to serve low-income populations.
- Show effective interpersonal skills.
- Show the ability to innovate and improve existing programs.
- Experience working in a law firm or nonprofit organization is preferred.
- Show the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school graduate with some college or relevant work experience preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish is highly preferred.
- Show the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Show a good track record completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Prior experience as a GLSP paralegal, receptionist, or client pre-screener is a plus.
Qualifications
- Salary range $35,975 - $47,725, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
- Probationary period: 6 months.

- 15 accrued vacation days, including 2 personal days. Vacation days increase to 20 days after 3 years of employment.

- 403(b) retirement plan with GLSP 4% match up to $5,000.
