About the role
PCI is seeking a Mechanical Insulation Trade Coordinator for its Lenexa, KS operations. This union hourly position focuses on training, safety, and process improvement for mechanical insulation crews.
Responsibilities
- Participate in branch strategy discussions with branch leadership
- Establish goals, measurables, and accountabilities
- Participate in PCI’s safety program with an emphasis on the crews they train
- Attend all meetings and trainings of the Construction Department
- Work in partnership with the branch Superintendent(s) to improve craft worker processes
- Establish a training program specific to individuals (by name, classification, certifications, or tenure) with phased approach plans
- Work with current Field Leads for enhancement and identify future Leads from the field crew
- Build competencies into Apprentices earlier to achieve a healthy Apprentice to Journeyman crew mix
- Establish a mentorship program to drive early adoption of best practices and philosophies
- Review Labor Control weekly with crew leads
- Report all time applied to their efforts accurately as a Union Hourly position
- Maintain current OSHA 30 certification and all other certifications required of the crew they train
- Participate in evaluations for the Foreman Supplemental Bonus Program
- Focus on quality assurance to ensure all installations meet plans, specs, and high-quality standards
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional work experience running crews on commercial projects
- Security clearances, required certifications, safety training, and licensing
- Advanced proficiency with Procore
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in technical aspects of the job
- Customer service skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask
- General knowledge of trade tools, equipment, and materials used in the construction industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Local to the Kansas City metro area
