Trade Compliance Specialist

About the role

N.A. Trading Company, established in 1986, is a leading Asian food importer/distributor based in Los Angeles. We specialize in importing products from countries like Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China, offering over a thousand unique items including jasmine rice, canned coconut juice, and frozen durian.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit ISF filings
• Prepare and submit documentation for Customs and PGA release
• Cook with suppliers and carriers to gather information for clearance
• Track and monitor entries to ensure timely processing and resolve any issues or delays
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of Customs transactions for audit
• Stay up-to-date with changes in Customs and PGA regulations and industry practices
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth movement of goods across borders
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on Customs-related matters

Requirements

• Minimum Associate degree
• 2+ years of experience as a Customs entry writer
• Knowledge of US Customs procedures
• Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations
• Knowledge of PGA, specifically FDA/USDA/FWS
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Cargowise experience a plus
• Authorized to work in US
