Track/Rail Designer - Engineer III
About the role
HNTB is a leading engineering firm with a rich history of delivering complex infrastructure projects. Our team includes professionals involved in projects like the Susquehanna River Bridge and Long Bridge, among others. We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Aid in the development of project specifications.
- Responsible for development of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables such as reports, designs, and plans.
- Aids in the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineering project team members.
- Works closely with other disciplines and on multi-discipline projects.
- Performs quality control reviews of discipline-specific engineering project elements/deliverables.
- Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work within discipline.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or
- PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to work with our team and the client.
- Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
- Exhibiting experience with OpenRail, MicroStation/PowerRail and/or AutoCad.
- Understanding of track/railroad design.
- Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
Skills
- Experience with OpenRail, MicroStation/PowerRail and/or AutoCad.
- Understanding of track/railroad design.
- Ability to manage time and coordinate project schedules.
