TR Operator L1

Job Summary

Operators are responsible for all aspects of safely operating Thread Roll Machines. Candidates will perform all of the basic machinery functions for the familiarization with equipment and tooling in the production of fasteners, follow work instruction processes and keep work area clean and organized.

Essential Functions

• Starts, stops, and feeds the machines and monitors for imperfect operation.
• Performs basic tool adjustments and clean up of machines.
• Grips and operates various hand tools.
• Follows 6-S principles.
• Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification.
• Understands and measures parts using appropriate measuring tools and blueprints.
• Uses and analyzes micrometers, calipers and all other measuring devices.
• Maintains productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals, and schedules.

Additional Responsibilities

• Always works in a safe manner, understanding safety and quality are priority.
• Fills out any required paperwork.
• Uses of computer systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Job Qualifications

• Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mathematic skills to include the use of decimals and fractions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented.
• Equivalent 6+ months of manufacturing experience.

Environmental Exposures

• Noise – Laboratory machines.
• Chemicals, oils, acids, sprays, coolants and solvents.
• Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
• Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.

Continuous Improvement

Training to be completed annually.
