About the role
Responsible for the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of Tower Cranes and maintaining the tower crane fleet and equipment. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles and obeys all safety and environmental policies while performing work on the job site.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient erection and dismantling of tower cranes
- Maintain tower crane fleet and equipment
- Willing to work in adverse conditions
- Able to read and understand operating manuals, parts manuals, and schematics
- Capable of accomplishing tasks safely and independently without direct supervision
- Maintain conformity to safety standards and other regulations
- Know how to properly fill out work orders, time sheets, and expense reports
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work overtime as well as nights and weekends
- Able to travel out of town on short notice for overnight and/or several days depending on job demands
- Availability to be on call nights and weekends
- Perform other job duties as assigned
- Carry and answer phone in a prompt manner
- At the end of each shift, review next day’s job assignments and prepare all necessary equipment for the next day(s)
- Clean, inspect, and organize equipment in the shop and yard
- Able to read, interpret, and calculate load percentages of cranes by utilizing load charts
- Program crane computers in the proper set-up mode, set up crane on location in a safe and professional manner
- Understand and perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of loads
- Provide and understand both verbal and visual crane signals
- Inspect pickup, crane, trailer, and other equipment, and fill out equipment inspection report prior to operating equipment
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of experience as a Tower Crane Technician, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to safely lift over 40 lbs
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Trade school diploma preferred
- Current driver’s license and clean MVR
Qualifications
- NCCCO TWR Certification preferred
- Training certifications such as electrical schematics, rigging, OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA, CPR/AED, NCCCO highly preferred
Pay
$36.00 - $55.00 an hour depending on experience, certifications held, and qualifications
