Touch-Up/Final Assembly - Operations Technician

General Purpose
The manufacturing associate assembles products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based upon customer demand and lean manufacturing principles. They problem solve with assistance from other team members and engage in continuous improvement activities. The position adheres to standard work methods and practices, ensuring production efficiency and safety.
Essential Functions
- Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies, and practices
- Completes required paperwork accurately to ensure record accuracy
- Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines
- Participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments as appropriate
- Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time)
- Rotates through the department work stations based on business need
- Checks equipment and product as needed, reporting problems or issues regarding safety or quality to department supervisor
- Works overtime as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Work experience demonstrating performance competency
- Basic math skills (counting, adding, subtracting)
- Ability to work cooperatively within the team and with members of other teams
- Willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment
Physical Demands
- Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift
- Lift and move up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 25 lbs occasionally, and up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Communicate and see with or without correction
