About the Role
The Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) provides leadership, planning, development, implementation, and support for the assigned program, curricular area, or site under the direction of the assigned administrator.
- Mentor new teachers
- Lead and support professional development and regional program instructional initiatives
- Analyze data and train staff to work with data
- Support special projects
- Collaborate with staff and model evidence-based teaching practices
- Train and support instructional assistants
Requirements
- Valid California driver's license
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in special education or a related field
To qualify for the full incentive, the candidate must possess a current Preliminary or Clear Credential in Special Education, Moderate/Severe, Mild/Moderate, or be eligible for a preliminary Credential. To qualify for the partial incentive, the candidate must be enrolled as an Education Specialist with a California District/University Intern permit.
All employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including fingerprinting and verification of negative tuberculosis.
